JOB TITLE: CNC MACHINIST - 2nd Shift
JOB SUMMARY: Operate CNC machinery to produce parts per job/drawing specifications.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to choose/pull correct tooling and/or die sets as required for job
Must be able to use computer-assisted gaging systems to do set-ups
Perform inspection of material being fabricated to verify that parts are to print
Daily attendance up to ten hours per day to meet schedules
Ability to read blue prints (Understand written instructions as well as symbolism)
Must be able to download programs from computer onto CNC machine as required for job
Must be able to use measurement tools, including but not limited to: calipers, micrometers, gage pins & blocks, telescoping gages, protractors and squares
Must have basic knowledge of manual machine shop equipment, including but not limited to: Drill press, conventional lathe, conventional mill
Ability to record time on timesheet (in decimals) from reading chart
Must be able to read work orders and production status reports for work center numbers and times to be entered on timesheets
MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:
Basic computer skills (access drawings on server)
Record keeping
Knowledge of hand tools including but not limited to: Files, center punches, pin drivers, scribes
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:
Supervisor or Leadman
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to understand basic English for production and emergency instructions
High school diploma or GED
Basic mathematical skills (including fraction/decimal conversions)
ACCEPTABLE EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Job experience of at least three years
Will be assigned to an experienced worker for training
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB:
Must be at least 18 years of age
Standing for long periods of time
Walking
Bending, twisting, stretching
Lifting up to 50 pounds
Handling material with assistance from co-worker or with conveyor (Pushing and pulling up to 300 pounds to position material)
Good eyesight
Adequate hearing
Good manual dexterity
Good eye-hand coordination
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Meet production and quality requirements as specified by Production Supervisor
Must be able and willing to follow instructions
Monitor quality of assigned tasks and correct any deficiencies
Maintain a clean and organized work area
Notify supervisory personnel of any production difficulties or other applicable information
Must follow company safety regulations and all requirements of Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and notify supervisor of any safety problems or hazards
Monitor the condition of equipment used and notify supervisor of any maintenance needs
Conform to, support, and enforce all Company policies and procedures
Participate in any and all reasonable work activities as deemed suitable and assigned by management. Must be willing to work in other departments as needed.
