Job Description
Our client, an ecommerce marketplace, is looking for a UX Researcher for a short-term contract starting Mid-October. In this role, you will be at the forefront a new live streaming product and understanding their users' needs and behaviors, providing valuable insights that will drive key features, products, and initiatives on their roadmap. Your primary focus will be on qualitative research methods to uncover deep user insights, which will inform design decisions and product development. A background in eCommerce is a huge plus. The client prefers candidates who sit in San Jose, San Francisco or Seattle which would require 3-days/week onsite. But they are open to a remote candidate for the right background.
Responsibilities: - Conduct qualitative research, including interviews, usability testing, ethnographic studies, and other methods to gather deep insights into user needs and behaviors.
- Analyze and synthesize research findings into actionable insights and recommendations for product and design teams.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to prioritize research initiatives that align with key business and product goals.
- Advocate for the user by ensuring that research findings are integrated into product development and design processes.
- Create detailed research reports and present findings to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Work closely with designers to iterate on concepts and designs based on user feedback.
- Contribute to the development of personas, user journeys, and other UX artifacts that inform product strategy.
- Stay current with industry trends and best practices in UX research and eCommerce.
- Assist in the development of research plans and methodologies that align with project goals and timelines.
Required Qualifications: - 5-7 years of proven experience in conducting qualitative UX research, preferably within the eCommerce industry.
- Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and methodologies.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience working in cross-functional teams, collaborating with designers, product managers, engineers, and marketers.
- Ability to analyze and interpret research data, translating it into actionable insights.
- Familiarity with various UX research tools and software.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail and a passion for understanding user behavior.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
