Job Description:

Our firm is growing steadily and transitioning to a modern firm (remote no ridiculous busy season hours no paper; not there yet but actively working on it). Were looking for an experienced Tax Preparer to grow with The Tax experience is a must. We currently have many clients that like to come to the office (does not affect this role much) especially around the tax season but we are actively making a move to being fully remote. It may take two years or so to be fully remote.

Plus: Currently outsourced; we handle bookkeeping for monthly and annual business clients. We can train in bookkeeping. We only have a handle full of monthly bookkeeping clients but it s a good fit for the person this role will do the books first then eventually review the books for the fulltime bookkeeper in two years.

Snap Advisory recently merged with an established practice in San Jose and worked through a transitioning tax season. Far from perfect but we re improving all aspects of the business every week.

Second round includes a two to five minute video submission before video interview.

Responsibilities:

• Preparing Individual & Business Tax Returns
  
• Prepare or update tax estimates as needed
  
• Onboard individual and business clients
  
• Keep up to date on tax education (firm provided)
  
• Work with Accounting Managers to look for tax planning & advice for clients
  
• Follow company procedures & systems
  
• Assist with other filings; sales tax 1099s business property returns
  
• Align & Commit to Company Values
  
• Camera on for Calls
  
• Bonus:
  
• Help clean up messy client books (with support) to prep for tax return
  
• Work on monthly bookkeeping running reports in monthly production
  
• Assist with Monthly payroll (using third party processor)

Requirements

• 3 years Experience with individual & business tax returns
  
• Bonus: experience with CCH Axcess or CCH Prosystems fx
  
• MUST be tech savvy & have fast reliable internet
  
• Exceptional analytical and problemsolving skills
  
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  
• Strong attention to detail
  
• Experience with QuickBooks Online (or other accounting systems)
  
• Have or are willing to get CTEC (paid by firm) not needed if CPA or EA
