Position Summary
Job Summary
The Social Media Marketing Intern will support and implement marketing programs and promotional activities for the Lewisburg Children's Museum to build an audience base and increase attendance and awareness of museum offerings, including, but not limited to, classes, programs, memberships, field trips, rentals, and more. This is a temporary, non-benefit eligible, non-exempt position as defined by FLSA standards.
Specific Responsibilities
In addition to the measurable goals, interns will:
* Greet guests and groups and answer routine questions about exhibits and the museum.
* Become knowledgeable about LCM pricing and memberships to accurately check-in guests
* Prioritize creating a positive visitor experience for LCM guests through every aspect of their interaction in the museum including check-in, exploration of the exhibits, participation in programs and classes, and birthday parties and special events.
* Help guests explore the various exhibit spaces.
* Monitor the exhibit space for organization, cleanliness, and safety.
* Assist with programs and events as necessary.

* General knowledge of social media
* Ability to transport oneself to and from the Lewisburg Children's Museum
* Ability to work one-weekday shift on Monday, Thursday, or Friday
Learning Objectives
* Assist in the development and implementation of marketing plans for a variety of areas including museum membership, development, field trip services, special events, and programs.
* Assist with community event promotions by completing organizational tasks and gathering marketing materials for events and occasionally working events or programs.
* Assist in exploring new forms of social media and social media trends.
* Create social media posts via Canva and other mediums.
* Develop captions for social media posts.
Required Qualifications
Education
First year, Sophomore, Junior or Senior. All majors.
Marketing, Journalism & Digital Content, Communications, Graphic Design, Advertising & Public Relations or minor in Museum Studies preferred.
Experience

Additional Requirements
* This position is paid $11.00 per hour with an estimated 5-10 hours per week.
* LCM hours are Monday, Thursday, Friday from 10:00 am-4:00 pm, Saturday from 10:00 am-5:00 pm, and Sunday from 12:00 pm-5:00 pm. Intern must be available for at least one-weekday shift on Monday, Thursday, or Friday.
* Intern will need own transportation
