Job Description:
We are looking for a motivated Staff Accountant to join our client in Tacoma, WA, on a temporary basis. This role primarily focuses on processing grants and billing municipalities and organizations. The ideal candidate will have strong reconciliation skills, a solid understanding of billing processes, and the ability to learn quickly.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process grant expenditures and prepare billing for municipalities and organizations.
• Extract information from our accounting system and compile all necessary bills and timesheets.
• Format documents according to existing guidelines for submission.
• Familiarize yourself with contracts to ensure accurate billing.
• If time permits, develop a formal Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for future reference.

Qualifications:

• Strong reconciliation skills and attention to detail.
• Understanding of billing processes and general accounting principles.
• Quick learner with the ability to adapt to established systems.
• Proficient in Excel, including experience with pivot tables and navigating existing spreadsheets (no formula or macro creation required).
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
