About JA-Rocky Mountain
JA-Rocky Mountain is part of the world’s largest organization dedicated to inspiring and preparing young people to succeed in a global economy. In partnership with schools, businesses, foundations, other non-profits, and individuals this regional operation provides programs to students Kindergarten through 12th grade and young adults up to age 25 in the northern half of Colorado and Wyoming. JA Economic Literacy Professional Development programs work to equip teachers and students with the knowledge and tools necessary to achieve a lifetime of economic understanding and financial security.
Position Description
Reporting to the Director of Education, this position is responsible for the overall development and implementation of JA Economic Literacy Professional Development programs for Colorado and Wyoming K-12 teachers. The position works closely with faculty members at universities, mentor K-12 teachers, and partner organizations. The Manager of Economic Literacy Programs also works with school district instructional leaders, department chairs and K-12 teachers.
The position requires event planning, occasional travel and attending one or more national and state meetings per year. It also requires attendance at 4- 5 full day Saturday trainings per semester.
The Role:
Planning & Strategic Support
•Work with JA-Rocky Mountain leadership team to determine program strategy and priorities.
•Propose content and schedule for classes based on educator feedback and demand.
•Collaborate with professors, universities, partner organizations, and Board members as appropriate to plan JA Economic Literacy Professional Development programming menu.
•Forge consensus on courses to offer, within parameters of the budget.
•Identify instructors and coordinate dates, locations and class content.
•Set up academic credit with partner universities.
Marketing
•Provide relevant content to Communications team for creation of marketing materials.
•Engage in verbal promotions of services as opportunities arise.
•Coordinate email marketing with Communications team.
Program Implementation
•Manage teacher registration system to include database entry.
•Maintain communication with registrants in classes with all necessary logistics.
•Prepare materials for distribution in classes.
•Attend and supervise all courses.
Outreach & Educator Partnerships
•Maintain contact with, cultivate relationships and seek collaborations with partner organizations on both the state and national level.
•Align and coordinate outreach with the Programs team.
•Monitor status of economic education and personal finance instruction in various districts
Ongoing Engagement
•Stay abreast of trends in economic education and personal financial literacy, locally and nationally.
•Monitor trends in the educational landscape of Colorado and Wyoming.
Qualifications:
•Passion and enthusiasm for working with and engaging K-12 teachers
•Passion for JA-Rocky Mountain’s mission demonstrated by volunteerism and/or previous work experience
•Goal-orientated, ability to thrive under pressure, self-motivated and self-directed
•Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills
•Ability to manage details of projects, programs, and events, which includes multitasking, organizational and time management skills
•Public speaking and presentation skills
•Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
•Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
•Strong technical skills, including intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel
•5+ years of experience in education, program management, project management, or related field.
•Experience in K-12 education highly preferred
Physical/Other Expectations:
•Ability to occasionally move equipment (up to 50 lbs.)
•Ability to pass required background check

Compensation and Benefits:
•This is an exempt position with an annual salary range of $62,000-$68,000.
