Job Description

Labor Finders of Austell is looking for some skilled laborers. A skilled laborer performs a variety of construction tasks requiring specialized knowledge and experience, such as operating power tools, building structures with materials like wood, concrete, or brick, installing fixtures, performing minor repairs in areas like plumbing, electrical, or carpentry, all while adhering to safety regulations and project specifications. 

Key responsibilities may include:

• Operating power tools: Using drills, saws, sanders, nail guns, and other power tools to cut, shape, and assemble materials. 

• Material handling: Lifting, carrying, and transporting building materials to the worksite. 

• Minor repairs: Performing basic repairs in plumbing, electrical, or carpentry work as needed 

• Reading blueprints: Interpreting plans and specifications to ensure work is completed accurately 

• Safety compliance: Following safety protocols and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment 

• Construction tasks: Building forms, laying bricks, pouring concrete, installing flooring, framing walls, erecting scaffolding, and finishing surfaces. 

Skills and qualifications:

• Physical strength and stamina: Ability to lift heavy objects and work on your feet for extended periods 

• Hand-eye coordination: Precise control when operating power tools 

• Basic carpentry skills: Knowledge of wood cuts, joints, and measuring techniques 

• Basic understanding of construction methods: Familiarity with building codes and construction practices 

• Problem-solving skills: Ability to identify and resolve issues on the job site 

• Teamwork: Collaborate effectively with other crew members 

Different types of skilled laborers might include:
Carpenter's helper, Concrete finisher, Mason, Electrician's helper, and Plumber's helper.
