We are seeking a seasoned Senior Staff Accountant with a passion for numbers and a keen eye for detail. This is a permanent position ideal for a driven individual who is ready to dive into the fast-paced world of the construction industry. As a Senior Staff Accountant, you will be a pivotal part of our accounting team, contributing to our financial operations' efficiency and accuracy. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in dynamic environments and is eager to apply their expertise in financial reporting, reconciliations, month-end close, year-end close, and journal entries.

Responsibilities:

As a Senior Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for:

1. Preparing accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
2. Conducting regular ledger maintenance.
3. Overseeing the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring all financial reporting deadlines are met.
4. Performing monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
5. Managing journal entry postings.
6. Assisting in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
7. Identifying and resolving accounting discrepancies.
8. Collaborating with external auditors during financial and operational audits.
9. Implementing and maintaining internal financial controls and procedures.
10. Providing guidance and support to junior accounting staff as needed.

Qualifications:

To be considered for the Senior Staff Accountant position, you must possess the following:

1. A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in an accounting role, preferably within the construction industry.
3. Proficiency in financial reporting, reconciliations, month-end close, year-end close, and journal entries.
4. Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
5. Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail.
6. Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
7. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
8. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
9. Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
10. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation or progress toward obtaining CPA is preferred.
