Job Description

Piper Maddox is proud to partner with a rapidly growing electric vehicle infrastructure organization headquartered in Santa Monica, California.

We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Sales Trainer to support the expansion and development of the company's commercial sales team.

If you believe your background and expertise align with the responsibilities outlined, we encourage you to apply or reach out for further discussion.

Onboarding and Early-Stage Training:

  • Build and lead a structured orientation process for incoming sales personnel to ensure smooth assimilation into the team and broader organization.
  • Host introductory sessions that outline company purpose, values, internal structure, commonly used metrics (e.g., total and annual contract value, recurring service models), and department functions.
  • Deliver in-depth training focused on industry fundamentals, types of charging solutions, market use cases, and the core offerings — including hardware and platform interface features.
  • Coordinate informational meetings with teams across deployment, pricing, and client success to provide new hires a comprehensive view of the sales-to-operations journey.
  • Ensure team members are set up for success in their first 30/60/90 days with a clear strategy and performance roadmap.

Ongoing Sales Enablement and Development:

  • Design and manage continuous learning initiatives that expand knowledge of offerings, sharpen sales techniques, and improve prospecting, deal structuring, and closing approaches.
  • Maintain and regularly update training resources such as decks, scripts, role-play scenarios, and interactive guides.
  • Provide structured education around the tools used for sales outreach and pipeline management, including CRMs, networking platforms, and deployment tracking dashboards.
  • Run simulation-based training (mock calls and demos) with real-time feedback to refine individual and group performance.
  • Guide team members in clearly articulating the company’s differentiated value and navigating pricing discussions effectively.

Performance Tracking and Accountability:

  • Create a system that aligns early-stage training with 90-day sales objectives and team performance targets.
  • Implement performance dashboards and progress scorecards to ensure clarity and transparency.
  • Collaborate closely with sales leadership to identify development opportunities using performance data and team goals.

Program Oversight and Optimization:

  • Regularly assess the relevance and impact of training programs and adjust content to reflect evolving strategy, market shifts, and team needs.
  • Analyze learning effectiveness and how it ties into sales KPIs to refine approach and delivery methods.
  • Stay current on learning strategies, facilitation methods, and competitive enablement trends.
  • Oversee scheduling, communication, and internal coordination for training delivery across locations and roles.
  • Participate in or lead additional projects that support sales performance and organizational growth as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 7+ years in sales training or enablement, ideally within sectors tied to emerging tech, transportation, or subscription-based models.
  • Demonstrated experience in building and executing successful onboarding and ongoing education programs with measurable sales impact.
  • Deep understanding of high-performing sales practices and buyer engagement techniques.
  • Strong public speaking, coaching, and group facilitation skills, with the ability to inspire a variety of learners.
  • Skilled at creating learning content using multiple formats — from live workshops to asynchronous modules.
  • Proficiency in widely used sales platforms and enablement tools (CRM systems, email sequencing tools, performance dashboards).
  • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in an agile and fast-evolving environment.
  • Strong organizational and workflow management skills.
  • Background knowledge in electric-powered transportation solutions is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, communications, or a related field preferred.
