Job Description

Overview

We are currently seeking a Paraprofessional - Bookkeeper to join our Business Solutions Group. The BSG group provides entrepreneurial and family-owned businesses accounting, tax and advisory support. From taxation issues and mandatory accounting needs, our expertise can make a substantial difference to entrepreneurs striving to expand their business to a new level and ensure continued success for the next generation.

The individual will be responsible for providing a timely, high-quality and accurate work product and will also be expected to demonstrate professionalism at all times to deliver client service excellence. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Essential Duties

* Provide superb client service through interaction with clients and their staff, including on-site visits.

* Maintain general ledgers including accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash receipts, cash disbursements, journal entries, month-end and year-end close.

* Bank reconciliations.

* Accounting for fixed assets and depreciation.

* Preparation of payroll and sales tax returns.

* Preparation of 1099 and W-2 filings.

* Special projects and reports.

Qualifications

* 2+ years' relevant experience required; BA/BS Degree in Accounting a plus.

* Overtime during Busy Season (January through April 15th) may be required.

* Payroll and sales tax return preparation experience a plus.

* Individual and business tax preparation experience a plus.

* Strong ability to work independently with minimal direction while exercising good judgment/decision making.

* Ability to demonstrate professionalism at all times and deliver excellent client service.

* Exceptional interpersonal skills and pleasant, positive demeanor.

* Excellent organizational and verbal and written communication skills.

* Good working experience with QuickBooks, Word and Excel required.

* Knowledge of other accounting software (e.g., Sage, Peachtree) a plus.

* Periodic local travel (via personal car) to clients may be required.
