Forklift / Overhead Crane Operator Pay Rate: $22-24/hr
Shift: 1st, 2nd, & 3rd shift openings, Week & Weekend shifts
Week Shift: Mon. - Thurs, 10 hour shifts ($22/hr)
Weekend Shift: Fri - Sat, 6:00am - 6:00pm, 12 hour shifts with a pay differential ($24/hr)
Location: Buchanan, GA 30113
Temp-to-hire opportunity for experienced forklift and overhead crane operator. Experience working with bulk metal a plus. Must have flexibility to train on first shift (6:30am - 2:30pm). This entry-level position will be responsible for forklift and crane operations, as well as acting as parts cleaners and saw helpers. Our Client is looking to eventually bring on associates as permanent employees to operate saws, CNC machines, shears, press brake, blast and prime lines, and more so there is great growth opportunity!
Training will be provided on how to operate IMS hoist on engineered system bridges at different weight capacities, as well as crane and forklift! If you have previous experience working with metals or even welding experience, this could be just the job for you!
Job Responsibilities: - Load/unload or otherwise move inventory through the use of an overhead crane and/or forklift
- Cleaning of designated equipment (saw machine, metal parts, etc)
- Keeping walkways clean of bands, dunnage and debris.
- Log and tag inventory received and report inventory location changes
- Assemble customer orders according to work orders
- Record pertinent material information on to work orders or other forms as specified by management
- Maintain compliance with all safety requirements, policies, and procedures.
Requirements: - Minimum 2-3 years industrial materials handling required
- Must be able to operate a sit-down seatbelt forklift
- Experience working with metals a plus!
- Experience with overhead crane operation and techniques is a plus!
- Display the ability to accurately use basic measuring devices, including tape measure and micrometers.
- Display the ability to use manual hand tools, including wrenches and clamps.
- Good and clear communication skills
- Safety sensitive for his/her owns safety and/or of others safety.
- Demonstrated initiative to proactively seek out work and complete tasks
- Enthusiastic team player with a motivating positive attitude
- Committed to a workplace of culture and respect.
