Health Promotion Subject Matter Expert

OVERVIEW

• Position: Health Promotion Subject Matter Expert (Level I and Level III)
• Location: Falls Church, VA
• Clearance: SECRET or higher
• Position summary: Provide expert-level consultation in health promotion and wellness capabilities to champion a culture of health, wellness, and readiness in support of military communities.
• Compensation: $120,000 – 170,000 (DoE and level)

Program Description

Defense Health Agency’s (DHA) Health Promotion and Wellness (HPW) Functional Area oversees prevention and wellness requirements and capabilities, including:

• Health promotion governance and coordination
• Health promotion education and training
• Health promotion assessment and evaluation
• Newly established and Congressionally directed Military Families Outdoors initiative.

Position Overview

The Health Promotion Subject Matter Expert will provide support for Health Promotion unification within DHA and throughout the DoD by using the effective and efficient execution of prioritized health promotion and prevention initiatives.

Position Duties

• Program Management - p rovide technical direction (TD) program management services to include management and oversight of all activities and quality of work, participation in scheduled and impromptu progress review meetings/briefings and quality control for all activities.
• Program Analysis, Operations and Strategy - p rovide program analysis and operational services, program oversight, strategic planning, and program business operations support.
• Health Promotion Organizational & Strategic Planning ( SME Level III ) - p rovide consultation and support for health promotion strategy, strategic communications, stakeholder engagement, and coordination
• Health Promotion & Prevention - p rovide consultation and support for policy development and maintenance and health promotion special projects
• Logistics, Procurement, and Life Cycle Services - p rovide logistics, procurement and life cycle services, as needed, in support of DHA requirements.

Position Requirements

• Experience supporting the medically-related readiness for DoD or other federal agency policies, programs, and activities.
• Experience supporting policy formulation and program oversight of the Military or other federal agency Health System.
• Experience supporting the delivery of health benefits to service members, civilians, retirees, survivors, and their families.
• Experience supporting the Joint, integrated Combat Support Agency that enables the Army, Navy, and Air Force or other federal agency medical services to provide a medically ready military or civilian force.
