Responsibilities Priority 1: Equity and Inclusion Reflect and understand how identities influence workplace opportunities and disadvantages. Create an inclusive environment that respects and values all staff and clients. Priority 2: Grant Management & Applications Maintain timelines for proposals and reports. Research grant‑making organizations and identify funding sources. Compile, write, and edit grant applications with strong expository writing. Develop individual grant proposals per grantor guidelines. Draft letters of support for partners, legislators, judges, and public policy stakeholders. Train employees on grant reporting needs. Collaborate with the Chief Development Officer and Chief Financial Officer on budget matching and financial compliance. Translate program ideas into funding opportunities. Priority 3: Administration of Grants Maintain contact with grant‑making organizations during evaluation and supply additional materials. Monitor existing grants, submit renewal/extension applications as needed. Provide progress reports for funded projects. Archive grant research, applications, and administration records. Coordinate with DVIS staff, clients, and partners. Ensure compliance with all grant regulations. Conduct interagency and interdepartmental grant oversight committee meetings. Prepare grant status reports, calendar, and evaluation documents. Track software, set, and meet deadlines. Participate in community collaborations for funding and program resources. Priority 4: Other Grant‑Related Activities Create and maintain a program needs list and pursue funding for these programs. Draft additional letters of support for collaborators and policymakers. Work with Chief Financial Officer to match budget requirements. Develop and implement grant acquisition strategies for initial applications and renewals. Requirements Education: Bachelor’s degree from a four‑year college or university in English or a related discipline. Experience: Minimum of three years administering private and federal grants, preferably in a nonprofit setting. or two‑to‑four years of related experience plus academic training in advanced writing, research, and grant preparation. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Proficient computer skills, including grant management platform, Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, spreadsheets, and graphic applications. Excellent written and oral communication, advanced writing and research skills, and time‑management. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, meet constant deadlines, and adapt to fast‑paced environments. Experience with social justice issues, including intimate partner and gender‑based domestic and sexual violence. Dedication to diversity, equity, inclusion, anti‑racism, and proficiency in handling sensitive information diplomatically. Proven negotiation skills and ability to advocate for DVIS’s philosophies.
