Vision
The ES team will be responsible for assisting the EMC Design Engineering teamwith product testing and debug, new lab bringup and maintenance, and testequipment verification and calibration testing at the Austin EMC lab.Additionally, they will support teardown, rework, and soldering for consumerelectronics products.
Key Benefits Expanding EMC test coverage in Austin EMC labs
Enabling consistent lab maintenance and verification processes at Appleinternal labs in Austin
In Scope Work closely with Apple engineers to execute test plans per EMCstandards
Prepare test reports and communicate data to Apple engineers
Review EMC test data, prepare test reports, and debug anomalous results incollaboration with Apple engineers
Work with Apple facilities teams to plan deployment of new EMC test equipmentand chambers
Perform periodic calibration and verification measurements for EMC testequipment
Monitor new test equipment delivery and assist in installation
Perform rework on consumer electronics, including soldering and mechanicalteardown and re-assembly
Track equipment calibration schedules and coordinate with third party partners
Success Criteria/Definition of Done Completion of EMC validation for all development builds forsupported projects
Completion of lab bringup and implementation of verification and calibrationprocesses at Apple Austin EMC Labs in RV04 and PL01
Preferred Technical Requirements Experience testing and debugging prototype consumerelectronics, including software/firmware and EMC issues
Familiarity with EMC test standards including EN55022, EN55032, IEC61000-3-3,IEC61000-4-2, IEC61000-4-3, IEC61000-4-4, IEC61000-4-5, IEC61000-4-6,IEC61000-4-11, and ETSI 301 489-7
Experience supervising and performing EMC testing, with a focus on qualityassurance and process optimization
Familiarity with lab equipment and maintenance procedures, includingcalibration and verification of ESD guns, surge testers, receivers,oscilloscopes, SAs, VNAs, cables, amplifiers, LISNs, and CDNs
Experience in product testing and validation at contract manufacturers and atISO 17025 accredited labs is a plus
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English with experiencegenerating technical reports
Experience reworking electrical components as small as 01005
