Early Intervention Mentor Job Responsibilities

• Successfully implement the organization's model through an organized schedule of observations, debriefs, skill-shares, screening, data collection, and reflection
• Build and maintain positive working relationships with partner preschool teachers and support staff
• Use reflective practices to support teachers who are facing ongoing, cyclical challenging behaviors in their classrooms
• Develop and facilitate large and small-scale training events with teachers, parents, and community members during the school year and summer
• Participate in evaluation and communications tasks, including social media video and blog posts

Early Intervention Mentor Requirements

• A demonstrated commitment to improving the quality of early childhood education and the social-emotional development of infants to toddlers (0-2.5yrs)
• Bachelor’s degree in early childhood or elementary education with early childhood minor
• Five years of experience teaching in a preschool classroom and at least two years of experience in a supervisory, coaching, and/or mentoring role in a preschool setting
• Demonstrated excellent relationship-building and reflective capacity skills
• Intermediate computer skills (ability to access and utilize online tools related to the curriculum and screening tool, online data entry)
• A valid driver’s license, valid car insurance, and reliable transportation is required, as the coach will be traveling to and between preschool education settings

Preferred Experience

• Currently we are seeking coaches who live or work in Wayne, Oakland and Washtenaw counties
• Special Needs experience a plus
• Bilingual is a plus (Spanish, Arabic, Bengali)
