About the Role
The Company is seeking a Dean for its School of Continuing Education, the largest and most successful program of its kind in Canada. The Dean will be responsible for all aspects of the School's operations, including strategic planning, policy development, and financial and human resources management. The successful candidate will be expected to enhance the School's reputation and credibility as a leader in continuing education, foster a collaborative culture, and maintain positive relationships with partners. This role requires an exemplary leader with a vision for lifelong learning, a proven track record of innovation and growth, and a strong commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion. Experience in a post-secondary or continuing education environment, as well as a graduate degree, preferably a Ph.D., is essential. Familiarity with university constituencies and experience in fundraising and alumni relations are also important. The ideal candidate for the Dean position at the company's School of Continuing Education will be a collaborative and consultative leader with a passion for lifelong learning. The Dean will be expected to contribute to the company's academic and strategic planning processes and build an accountability framework that demonstrates the School's academic quality and fiscal responsibility. A strong background in financial management, experience with revenue generation activities, and a proven ability to foster positive relationships in an entrepreneurial setting are key attributes. The Dean will also be responsible for supporting the School's and the University's objectives in fundraising and alumni relations. The role requires a leader who is an outstanding communicator, a strong advocate for accessibility, and an engaging problem solver. Experience with negotiations and collective bargaining in a unionized environment is a strong asset.
