Job Description

The Controller serves as a pivotal financial accounting leader for multiple manufacturing sites, delivering strategic insights and actionable analytics to enhance operational efficiency, cost management, and profitability. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to drive financial performance, support strategic initiatives, and foster a culture of continuous improvement. Key responsibilities include overseeing budgeting, forecasting, cost accounting, and financial reporting while ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field (required); Master’s degree or CPA certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive financial experience in a manufacturing environment, with expertise in cost accounting and inventory management.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, financial modeling, and ERP systems. Experience with financial reporting platforms is essential.
  • Deep understanding of GAAP, internal controls, and manufacturing-specific financial processes, including standard costing and fixed asset tracking.
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with a proven ability to build trust-based partnerships with stakeholders. Strong analytical mindset and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment, with excellent organizational skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Willingness to travel up to as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Generate and analyze daily, weekly, and monthly performance reports, focusing on variances, KPIs, and cost drivers. Identify risks, opportunities, and root causes, and support leadership in implementing corrective actions.
  • Lead the annual budgeting process and monthly forecasting cycles, ensuring accurate cost projections aligned with operational KPIs and strategic goals.
  • Oversee inventory reconciliation, ensure accuracy of reported results, and manage aged inventory reserves. Develop and maintain standard costing models for new and existing products.
  • Manage the month-end close process for multiple facilities, ensuring compliance with GAAP and accurate reconciliation of balance sheet accounts.
  • Strengthen internal control processes, address deficiencies, and mitigate business risks to maintain operational integrity.
  • Partner with operations and project teams to conduct ROI and cost/benefit analyses for capital projects and new product initiatives. Provide financial guidance to optimize profitability and operational efficiency.
  • Support annual audits and respond to compliance-related inquiries as needed.
  • Act as a change agent by proposing innovative solutions to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and streamline financial processes.
  • Assist senior leadership with special projects, financial modeling, and strategic initiatives as required.
