Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Lafayette, CO is seeking a part-time employee (24-28 Hours/Week) to be the Director of Youth Formation. We are looking for an inspiring and faithful individual to help build and expand a faith-centered life of discipleship for the middle and high schoolers of the parish. The Director of Youth Formation will also be responsible for bringing service and mentorship into our youth programs. This position will also support other initiatives as directed by the pastor.

Job Details:

• Create Disciples
• Lead middle and high school youth ministry
• Provide religious instruction and support for youth in their faith journey
• Plan, prepare, and oversee Wednesday evening bible study and Sunday evening youth groups
• Collaborate with parents and families to create a supportive environment for youth faith development, including providing resources and support
• Recruit, prepare, and runs Core Team meetings that aim to form adult volunteers both spiritually and communally
• Work with other parish staff and ministries to integrate youth ministry into the overall parish mission and activities
• Nurture the spiritual lives of youth through prayer, worship, and liturgical ministry
• Serve as a mentor and guide for young people, offering support and encouragement in their faith journey
• Coordinate groups for conferences and camps ex: Steubenville of the Rockies, Mountain Madness, Vacation Bible School, etc., (hours will vary and overtime is required during these events)
• Complete administrative tasks required of the job and become a Safe Environment Training Trainer
• Actively engages in a prayerful and sacramental life, dedicating a substantial portion of time
• Dedicated to growing in faith through the sacraments, personal prayer and continued formation and education
• Mold youth ministry to be service and mentorship oriented
• Coordinates community service events that lend to evangelization

• Catholic in good standing and follows the Church’s precepts
• Faithful to the teachings of the Catholic Church
• Prayerful, open to the Holy Spirit
• Can recognize and grow the gifts of the Holy Spirit in others
• Willing to pray with others
• Well catechized, can teach well and able to form relationships with adults, teens, and children
• Creative problem solving, willing to experiment
• Passionate about evangelization and the mission of the parish
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Must possess a valid CO driver’s license
• Weekends and evenings required, specifically Wednesday and Sunday evenings

Not required but preferred:

• Bachelor’s degree in education, spiritual development, theology, or related field of study preferred; or equivalent work/ministry experience
• Experience in youth ministry is preferred
• Experience in supervising volunteers is preferred
• Ability to communicate in Spanish is preferred

All candidates are subject to the requirements of Archdiocesan Safe Environment Training and a background check.
