Workers' Compensation Attorney (Temp-to-Hire)

About the Role:

We are seeking a Workers' Compensation Attorney for a temp-to-hire opportunity with a well-respected firm. This role is ideal for an attorney with strong litigation skills and experience in workers' compensation defense , looking to transition into a long-term position. The ideal candidate will be responsible for handling all aspects of workers' compensation cases, from initial case evaluation to trial preparation and resolution.

Key Responsibilities:

• Represent clients in workers' compensation defense cases from inception through resolution.
• Conduct depositions, mediations, and hearings before the State Board of Workers' Compensation.
• Draft and respond to motions, pleadings, and discovery requests .
• Analyze medical records and employment history to develop strong defense strategies .
• Provide legal counsel to clients, insurance companies, and employers regarding case developments.
• Negotiate settlements and effectively manage case timelines.
• Collaborate with adjusters, employers, and witnesses to build strong case defenses.

Qualifications:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Active bar license in FL and in good standing.
• 2+ years of workers' compensation defense experience preferred.
• Strong litigation, negotiation, and case management skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced legal environment .
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
