Job Description
Allegiance Staffing is looking for a 1st shift Waste Removal Associate to join our client's growing team in Lancaster, PA. The successful candidate will play a critical role in maintaining cleanliness, safety, and efficiency within the manufacturing plant by managing the removal and proper disposal of waste materials. This role is essential to ensuring compliance with environmental and safety regulations while supporting a productive work environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
• Waste Collection and Disposal:
o Collect, transport, and dispose of waste materials (e.g., production scraps, packaging waste, recyclables, and hazardous materials) in designated areas.
o Ensure proper segregation of waste based on material type (e.g., general, recyclable, hazardous).
• Compliance and Documentation:
o Follow all local, state, and federal regulations regarding waste handling, disposal, and recycling.
o Maintain accurate records of waste quantities and disposal activities for reporting purposes.
• Equipment Operation and Maintenance:
o Operate tools and equipment (e.g., compactors, forklifts, and balers) safely and efficiently.
o Conduct routine checks and basic maintenance on waste removal equipment to ensure proper functionality.
o Maintain cleanliness in waste collection areas and throughout the facility.
o Adhere to all plant safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
o Report safety hazards, spills, or equipment malfunctions promptly.
• Team Collaboration:
o Work closely with production, maintenance, and environmental teams to coordinate waste removal schedules and support plant operations.
o Assist in training team members on proper waste disposal practices.
Qualifications
• Education and Experience:
o High school diploma or equivalent.
o Previous experience in waste management, custodial work, or manufacturing environment preferred.
• Skills and Knowledge:
o Basic understanding of waste handling and recycling practices.
o Ability to operate waste removal equipment (training provided if necessary). Recent forklift experience and certificate required.
o Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean, safe workspace.
• Physical Requirements:
o Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs.]).
o Comfortable working in varying conditions, including heat, cold, and noisy environments.
o Ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
Pay rate: $21.00
