PSYCHOLOGY RESEARCH VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY AT BUTLER HOSPITAL
The Psychosocial Research Program (https://sites.brown.edu/prp/) at Brown-affiliated Butler Hospital is seeking a part-time research volunteer to assist with various grant-funded research projects.
Volunteers should plan to commit a minimum of 1-2 days each week during the summer and/or academic year. These projects primarily focus on adults with serious mental illnesses and/or suicidal thoughts and behaviors, aiming to develop psychosocial interventions, facilitate transitions of care from acute to outpatient treatment, and evaluate mHealth. Dr. Brandon Gaudiano (https://vivo.brown.edu/display/bgaudian) leads these projects.
As a volunteer, your responsibilities will involve data entry and validation, qualitative coding, patient chart reviews, and other administrative tasks. There are also chances to shadow research staff during clinical interviews and submit scientific poster abstracts for conferences.
Volunteer hours are flexible, and this role is in-person. This position is particularly suitable for undergraduate students who wish to pursue graduate studies in clinical psychology or medical school. Ideal candidates will have taken psychology courses and should be proficient in Excel and SPSS or similar statistical software.
If you are interested, please send a cover letter and resume/CV to Ms. Toni Amaral at tamaral@butler.org.
