The volunteer program requires a six-month commitment with a minimum of a 3-4 hour shift a week, exceptions being for vacation or illness. Volunteers are expected to be consistent. This is an unpaid position offering the opportunity to use talents, meet new people, and make a difference in people's lives. Volunteer roles include Guest Services, Department Support, Surgical Waiting Room, Emergency Room assistance, Gift Shop Assistant, Playing Music in the Hospital Lobby, Transportation (Golf Cart), and Patient Visitation. Qualifications include being at least 16 years old, able to work independently, good communication and listening skills, ability to follow instructions, ability to work with diverse populations, physical mobility (walking, bending, standing), adequate hearing and vision, and sensitivity to patient and family situations. The location is Intermountain Health Intermountain Medical Center in Murray, Utah.
