About the Role
The Company is in search of a Vice President to join their Tax Counsel in Corporate Finance. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing regulatory change advisory, reviewing new business initiatives, and engaging in general corporate tax planning matters. This role involves close collaboration with the regional Corporate Tax management team, business front office, and support group personnel. The Vice President will be a key player in identifying tax issues and opportunities across the company's various products, businesses, and regions, and will offer expert advice on the tax aspects of the services provided to clients and customers. Applicants for the Vice President position should hold a Juris Doctorate or non-U.S. equivalent, with a Tax LLM being a plus. A minimum of 4-8 years' relevant tax experience at a top-tier law firm with a strong tax practice is required, although exceptional candidates with financial services industry experience at Big 4 accounting firms may also be considered. The role demands a professional with a background in advising on investment and transactional tax issues, including international and cross-border U.S. tax advisory, planning, and structuring. Experience in traditional and alternative investment management, as well as with U.S. and AEOI tax information reporting and withholding obligations, is highly valued. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in negotiating and drafting legal documents, partnership agreements, derivative documents, tax opinions, and fund offering materials, and must possess strong written and verbal communication skills, along with the ability to be self-directed.
