The role Shape the future of user experience for our organization's digital platforms! From conceptualization to high-fidelity execution, you'll craft seamless user interfaces that delight and engage. Leverage cutting-edge user research and design principles to set and elevate our web design standards. Collaborate closely with internal teams to strategize and optimize user journeys, ensuring our digital experiences are intuitive and impactful.
What You'll Be Doing: - Designs user interfaces at all stages from concept to low fidelity to high fidelity, iterating along the way based on user research.
- Conducts and assists with research in coordination with UX team leader and UX researcher.
- Identifies and defines user problems, needs and desires, designing solutions to address them, and iterating as needed until evaluation shows the problem/need/desire has been met.
- Defines and maintains design standards for websites in coordination with Communications and Information Services teams.
- Provides useful interface design specifications to developers and members of the communications team.
- Collaborates with the UX team leader and UX researcher to develop strategies to solve user problems through an iterative research and design process.
- Collaborates with stakeholders and developers with varying degrees of knowledge of user-centered design principles and UX methodologies.
- Acts as an enthusiastic, yet patient advocate for user-centered design practices throughout the organization.
- Analyzes user testing data and determines what changes should be made to the product.
- Meets required deadlines as needed to align with desired development and release schedules.
- Connects user UX design efforts to business goals.
What We'll Love About You: - A Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- Education or design training in a field related to UX/UI design is a plus.
- 2+ years of design experience.
- Experience managing projects with limited oversight as an individual contributor.
- WordPress experience a plus.
- Knowledge in principles of visual and interactive design and user-centered design methodologies, including accessibility and mobile-friendly design.
- Ability to balance aesthetics with usability and other aspects of user experience to create elegant, functional, on-brand and professional visual designs.
- Ability to handle design work at all stages of the design process including defining the problem, concepting, wireframing, prototyping and creating high-fidelity final products.
- Proficient in Figma and visual design tools such as Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop.
- Strong communicator (written, verbal and listening) who is adept at working with customers and stakeholders.
- Ability and willingness to learn the complexities of our business such as legal and regulatory compliance.
- Able to see the big picture and identify creative solutions to difficult problems.
- Commitment to continued improvement and learning, including staying apprised of new developments in interface design and welcoming critique and feedback.
- Knowledge of UI/UX best practices.
- Excellent PC or Mac skills.
- Project management and presentation skills.
- Demonstrates positive teaming skills and ability to work independently.
- Proven experience in using data (both quantitative and qualitative) analysis techniques to inform design decisions.
Physical Requirements Work takes place in a semi paperless environment within an office setting, either on business premises or other remote location, using standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers, which requires being stationary for extended periods of time. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms and work with close vision. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds. Work is performed indoors with little to no exposure to extreme outdoor weather conditions. Regular attendance is required.
