Job Description

UI/UX Product Designer As a UX/UI Designer at Twist Bioscience, you will play a crucial role in crafting intuitive and visually appealing enterprise applications. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, developers, and stakeholders, to understand user needs, define design requirements, and create elegant, effective user interfaces that meet business objectives and exceed user expectations. Your expertise in user-centered design, information architecture, and visual design will be vital in delivering exceptional user experiences and ensuring customer satisfaction, whether they are first-time non-technical users or experienced data scientists. Responsibilities: Partner with product managers to gather requirements and data, understanding user needs, pain points, and business objectives specific to Twist Bioscience's eCommerce, MES and Customer experience platforms. Develop user flows to guide the design process, ensuring alignment with Twist Bioscience's complex workflows and data-centric applications. Produce wireframes, prototypes, and visual designs that effectively communicate interaction and design concepts tailored to Twist Bioscience's unique applications. Work closely with product managers, developers, QA, UX writers, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment and successful implementation of designs, particularly for Twist Bioscience's eCommerce and MES systems. Conduct usability testing and gather feedback to iterate and improve designs based on user insights, focusing on enhancing the user experience for Twist Bioscience's platforms. Keep up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in user experience design, applying them to enhance the product's usability and visual appeal. Promote user-centered design principles and foster a user-focused mindset within the context of Twist Bioscience's products. Assist in creating and maintaining design systems, style guides, and design documentation to ensure consistency and scalability across Twist Bioscience's applications. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Design, Human Computer Interaction (HCI), or a related field. Minimum of 2 years of product design experience with a strong portfolio demonstrating your craft and application of user-centered design processes, including discovery, interaction, prototyping, and visual design skills. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Passion for designing complex workflows, data visualizations, and data-centric desktop applications, especially for eCommerce, Customer and Enterprise platforms. Experience with marketing technology or complex B2B/Enterprise products, with a preference for experience in the biotechnology or life sciences sector. Solid understanding of user-centered design principles, usability best practices, and information architecture. Strong visual design skills and the ability to create visually appealing and user-friendly interfaces tailored to Twist Bioscience's requirements. Proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, or similar software. Proactive communicator with excellent collaboration skills, capable of effectively presenting complex topics and justifying design decisions to stakeholders. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail. The base cash compensation for this California-based role is below. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for bonus, equity, and a generous benefits package. Final compensation amounts are determined by multiple factors, including candidate skill, experience, expertise, and location and may vary from the amount listed above.
