Salary:
This position is open to these First Northern Bank of Wyoming branches - Buffalo, Gillette, Sheridan, or Newcastle.
Summary/Objective: The Trust Officer will serve as a relationship manager for accounts, providing clients with professional guidance on complex matters and overseeing accounts following the provisions of the governing documents.
Essential functions:
•Provides administration of assigned accounts per governing documents, applicable statutes, and fiduciary standards consistent with policy.
•Assists clients with discussions regarding trust and estate planning concepts, in conjunction with legal and tax advisors, with forming trusts, providing options concerning arrangements best suited for their situation.
•As part of a team, aids in managing various unique assets, including, but not limited to, real estate, farms and ranches, oil, gas, wind, and other energy assets.
•Coordinates with Trust team members, other bank department team members, clients, and external vendors.
•Participates in Trust Committee meetings.
•Collaborates with investment advisors on appropriate investments based on financial goals, ensuring prudent investments are selected.
•Ensures quality service and profitable business growth by managing a portfolio of complex customer relationships.
•Communicates proactively with clients about account activity, performance, and valuable ideas.
•Monitors assigned accounts to identify and resolve non-compliance with relevant statutes and policies.
•Keeps management apprised of client risk concerns, problems, and complaints.
•Directs the payment of funds to grantors, beneficiaries, payees, vendors, etc., through the Operations team by understanding and interpreting the governing document.
•Maintains appropriate training and continuing education requirements for both internal programs and external licenses and certifications.
•Leads and/or participates in projects as a subject matter expert, as needed and/or assigned.
•Advocates for new account relations through community and professional visibility.
•Participates as able with branch marketing and community involvement events.
• Additional duties as assigned as it relates to the position.

•Maintains a proficient knowledge of all Trust rules and regulations.
•Strong knowledge of personal trust, investment, and wealth management.
•Attend training on bank/job-related topics.

•Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
•Candidate must possess leadership ability and collaboration skills to work with all areas of the bank
•Candidate must act professionally at all times
•Able to handle confidential information
•The ability to read and interpret legal documents, vendor contracts, policies, procedures, audit reports, examination reports, etc.
•A detective, someone with an intuitive sense of detail
•Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint, and Excel)
•Computer savvy: able to learn new software quickly
•Self-motivated and persistent in following through and learning quickly
•Excellent interpersonal, verbal, written, and communication skills
•Independent decision-makers within authority limits
•Commitment and continuous demonstration of ethical behavior and willingness to adhere to all company policies and current financial legislation.

Education/Qualifications:
•A bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, accounting, or a related field is required.
•Minimum of three years with a financial institution, trust company, investment firm, law firm, brokerage/advisory firm, or related experience
•Licensed attorney, CPA, CTFA, CFA, CFP, or other professional designation a plus
•Knowledge and understanding of fiduciary law, fiduciary tax practices, fiduciary accounting, estate settlement process, and other regulatory compliance requirements a plus
Supervisory:
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities and may serve as a coach and mentor for other positions in the organization.
Working Conditions:
•Normal office environment.
•While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to type, carry, handle, and feel objects, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds or more with assistance. •Multitask; perform tasks in an open office environment with noise from conversations, office machines, or other distracting sounds.
•Keep track of assigned tasks
•Occasionally may be exposed to upset customers during everyday activities or work under stress caused by anxious or impatient customers.
