Bank of Marin, voted by our employees as one of the "Best Places to Work" in the North Bay Business Journal, is looking for a Trust Officer to join our Wealth Management and Trust team at our corporate office in Novato.

Responsible for interacting with all clients, whether retained by the Bank for investment asset management (Agency) or trust administration. Independently perform and/or assist other Trust Officer(s) in the administration of trust accounts as assigned, and perform duties as directed by the governing document and current pertinent law. Independently perform and/or assist other Trust Officers, Relationship Managers and/or department Director in the service of Agency (non-trust) clients’ accounts as assigned, and perform the duties as required. Trust Officer will be expected to perform the duties described herein with minimal supervision. The Trust Officer will generate and close acceptable new business opportunities, with responsibility for achievement of assigned business development goals.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Deal directly with trust beneficiaries and agency clients regarding personal financial situation with minimal supervision.
  • Maintain professional rapport and working relationships with trustees or COI’s as needed to sustain the account relationship.

  • Research the terms of the governing document in terms of current governing state and federal laws.

  • Monitor, enter or cause to be entered disbursements from accounts.

  • Independently prepare for new business meetings with prospective clients and/or assist Relationship Managers (RM), Director (D) and Trust Officers (TO) in preparation for new business meetings with prospective clients.

  • Perform timely annual administrative and investment reviews for client accounts as assigned. Place purchase and sale transactions as needed or directed. Interact with sub-advisors on trading issues.

  • Create original correspondence to clients, attorneys, CPAs or other professionals as needed.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Professional / Educational Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree from four year college or university required. JD, CTFA, AEP or similar designation preferred.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience, in the area of trust administration with a demonstrated track record of skills and abilities.

The hiring pay range for this position is $93,776.00 - $138,199.00. In addition to the pay range listed, all bank positions are eligible for incentive compensation, which varies based on role. The pay rate for a successful applicant depends on a variety of factors including but not limited to geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level.
