Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric ECMO Specialist position requiring EPIC proficiency and Michigan RN licensure.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

• Position is in a pediatric ECMO specialist unit within an academic medical center
• Care for pediatric and occasional adult patients requiring ECMO support
• Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:1 or 1:2 for pediatric circuits, and up to 1:3 for adults with remote monitoring
• Day shifts are 7:00 am to 7:00 pm, consisting of alternating weekly schedules (36 hours one week, 24 hours the next)
• Required to work two weekends per four-week schedule
• No on-call or floating responsibilities
• Uses EPIC EMR; prior EPIC experience required
• Responsibilities include managing ECMO circuits for pediatric and adult patients in a high-acuity environment
• Orientation modules are completed onsite during initial orientation period
• Past employees must have at least a 12-month break in employment to be eligible for this travel position
• No vacation or RTO approved during the first week of the contract
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
• Traveler pairs will not be considered for this assignment

\n \n Requirements\n

• Active, non-compact Michigan RN license in hand
• At least one year of experience as an ECMO specialist in an urban or academic medical center
• Current BLS certification required
• Prior experience using EPIC EMR is mandatory
• Two professional references from a manager or supervisor are required for consideration
• Flu vaccination required with no exemptions permitted
• First-time travelers accepted only with prior ECMO specialist experience
