Company Description: VocoVision isseeking a talented Tele-Sign Language Interpreter in California to join our team on a 1099 basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for experienced sign language interpreters who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of students.

Job Overview: As a Tele-Sign Language Interpreter, you will provide remote interpretation services for students with hearing impairments in a school-based setting. By utilizing VocoVision's platform, you will help bridge communication gaps between students, teachers, and other school personnel, ensuring that all students have equal access to education. This role offers flexible hours, allowing you to work remotely from the comfort of your own home.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct live sign language interpretation for students during remote classes, meetings, and other educational activities.
• Facilitate effective communication between students, teachers, and other school staff members, ensuring inclusivity and understanding.
• Adapt to various subject matters and educational levels, tailoring interpretation techniques to suit the needs of individual students.
• Collaborate with educators and administrators to create and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with hearing impairments.

Requirements:

• Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) is essential.
• Proven experience as a sign language interpreter, preferably in a school-based setting.
• Proficient in utilizing telecommunication platforms and video conferencing tools for remote interpretation.
• Reliable internet connection, video equipment, and a quiet, distraction-free workspace at home.
