Gorge HR is looking for HR Geeks to join our growing team!

The Company

We are a small team of HR Geeks who work with small to medium-sized businesses in the Pacific Northwest. Our clients are often looking for guidance on navigating the world of Human Resources such as developing handbooks, job descriptions, employee relations, training, and all the other people-related challenges that inherently pop up in our days. We geek out on collaborating with owners and managers to develop a compliant, harmonious work culture that fits their company needs. This is what we do, and we love it!

The Position

The Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for managing the recruitment process from start to finish with Gorge HR clients, as well as:
  • Research job duties to create job descriptions.
  • Develop job ad and prescreen application questions.
  • Review applications and set up interviews with qualified candidates.
  • Directly and proactively source passive candidates through networking, job boards, referrals, social media, and other creative options.
  • Cold-call and message candidates with fun, catchy, candidate-focused messaging.
  • Conduct interviews professionally in alignment with Gorge HR's Core values.
  • Research compensation and work with clients to determine their offer.
  • Conduct onboarding meetings with new hires.
  • Ensure the candidate has a positive experience from beginning to end.
  • Support the current consulting team with a variety of HR functions, as well as several critical business tasks including but not limited to:
    • Researching job duties to develop job descriptions.
    • Developing and updating Employee Handbooks.
    • Posting job ads, screening applications, and setting up interviews with qualified candidates.
    • Directly searching for high-caliber talent to join our client's teams.
    • Sourcing data for compensation analysis and pay banding.
    • Submitting completed various state unemployment claims.
    • Developing presentation slide decks in PowerPoint on various HR topics.
    • Collecting timecards and payroll data.
    • Researching and staying current on state employment laws.
    • Creating Stay Interview questionnaires, as well as Employee Satisfaction surveys.
The Candidate

Are you a master at identifying great talent with 3+ years of recruitment experience who loves:

  • Working with business owners to find solutions to their people challenges;
  • High level of organization with an eye for detail;
  • A nut for correct grammar and proper writing and speaking skills;
  • Enjoys working independently (remotely) within a small team;
  • Industrious and relentlessly curious;
  • Accountable, seeks out feedback and growth opportunities;
  • Exceptional self-awareness with a knack for wordsmithing;
  • Can adapt to various communication styles with relative ease.
  • And can pivot and flow with changes in the day and week.
  • Fluency in Spanish is a plus!
Given the nature of consulting small business owners and managers, a fair amount of independent judgment and a generous amount of humble confidence coupled with a healthy dose of curiosity will be required for success in this role.

Benefits & Compensation

As an employee of Gorge HR, you are eligible to participate in the following benefit offerings:
  • Company-sponsored group health insurance plan (eligibility begins at 20 hours+ per week)
  • 80 hours accrued PTO
  • $50 monthly Data Connectivity contribution
  • Retirement plan participation
  • Compensation is $23/hr to $30/hr depending on the experience of the candidate.
  • Schedule flexibility
The Schedule
  • The Talent Acquisition Specialist is currently part-time, hourly, and non-exempt.
  • This position is remote with occasional team and onsite clients in the Portland/Vancouver-metro area.
  • Hours will be approximately 10-15 hours Monday through Friday to begin and may increase as additional projects are identified.
  • While the schedule is flexible, this position will require availability to respond to internal and external communication during our core hours 9:00am to 4:00pm PST.
