Job Description:
The Staff Accountant is an entry-level position reporting directly to the Controller. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Processing accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
• Preparing and posting monthly journal entries
• Reviewing grant-related expenditures to ensure compliance with applicable grant requirements
• Preparing financial and fiscal reports related to grant programs
• Assisting with reconciliations and general ledger maintenance
• Supporting the Controller, Director of Administration, and other administrative staff as needed
• Assisting with audits, reporting requests, and special projects as assigned
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a directly related field from an accredited four-year college or university
• Minimum of one (1) year of related professional accounting experience, including internships or similar experience
• A graduate degree in a directly related field may substitute for one year of experience
• Recent college graduates are encouraged to apply
• Familiarity with accounting software applications
• Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Familiarity with Federal Cost Principles and Audit Requirements (2 CFR Part 200) is preferred
• Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and time management skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
• Clear verbal and written communication skills
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 applications
• Authorization to work in the United States
