Sr. Welding EngineerWe are looking for a Sr. Welding Engineer to join our Target Rock team!As our Sr. Welding Engineer you will be responsible for the development of welding techniques and procedures for all welding applications and/or qualifications. You will also responsible for oversight of the metallurgical laboratory and production areas. You will manage the technical requirements and welding activities to comply with both Military Welding Standard NAVSEA 250-1500 and Boiler Pressure Vessel Code ASME Section IX. Experience in GTAW, PTA, and Oxyacetylene, and Welding Automation desired. You will be responsible for investigating and evaluating welding rejects and non-compliance issues. You will also determine appropriate cause(s) and corrective action(s), and recommend effective utilization of welding human resources and equipment to meet the Company's goals.Location: East Farmingdale, NYSalary/hourly rate: $91,00 to $131,399Please note that the salary range information provided is a general guideline only, reflecting a position based in New York. Investigates and evaluates welding defects to determine appropriate cause(s) and corrective action(s)Primary technical interface with customers and vendors on welding issues.Evaluate and implement use of new welding technology. Selects and recommends new welding equipment. Oversees procurements and installations of new equipment. Develops welding procedures and training of personnel for the utilization of new equipment.Review new request for quotations for new welding requirements. Coordinates and provides Contract/Sales and/or Project Engineering with both welding plans and production welding estimates, including recommendations for new equipment, as applicable.Provides oversight of weld record preparation and weld procedure and welder qualification records.Interacts/participates at administrative and/or production meetings to support engineering/ manufacturing and program management.What You BringAdvanced Degree in Engineering with major in metallurgy, materials science, or welding engineering.Must be a U.S Citizen Minimum ten (15) years of hands-on experience as a welding application engineer in a manufacturing environment where Oxyacetylene Hardsurfacing, PTA, GTA x-ray quality structure and seal welding as well as LASER and electron beam welding.Strength in engineering metallurgy of material properties, material specifications, pre and post heat-treatment requirements, brazing.Knowledge of critical weld joints and hardsurfacing deposits.Who We AreOur ValuesEnvironmental, Social and GovernanceFounded in 1951 to meet the special severe service valve requirements of the United States Nuclear Navy, Target Rock is today the premier supplier of highly engineered, valves and related products to both the U.S. Navy nuclear fleet and the global nuclear power generation industry.
