Senior Fashion Designer to join its team.
As the
Senior Fashion Designer, you will be responsible for owning a portion of the women's assortment. You will be responsible for participating in all the phases of the design, planning, and development processes from the initial concept to production. The ideal candidate should be proactive, look for opportunities to improve existing structures and processes, and find creative ways to utilize best practices. Though this is a Senior Designer role, the candidate will be participating in the design process (sketching and tech packs) along with the development of the line.
What You'll Do - Market Research and Trend Analysis:
- Conduct frequent analytical observations of the market.
- Research macro trends, innovations, fabrics, colors, washes, and silhouettes.
- Translate trends into commercially viable premium products.
- Product Development and Design:
- Demonstrate a strong ability to conceptualize collections and create compelling product stories.
- Plan and design the color flow for each season.
- Develop and update design presentation boards, reflecting changes as necessary.
- Create detailed CAD/render sketches incorporating patterns, prints, and colors.
- Generate and finalize all design handoffs and technical packs.
- Operations and Organization:
- Provide day-to-day support for all design functions.
- Maintain and update seasonal digital files, folders, and the internal library for raw material submissions.
- Ensure adherence to the design calendar, proactively addressing any scheduling obstacles to prioritize business deliverables.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Actively participate in fitting sessions to ensure product alignment with design vision and standards.
- Demonstrate the ability to work independently with a hands-on mentality while effectively setting priorities.
- Exhibit flexibility, accuracy, structure, responsibility, and a results-oriented approach in a fast-paced environment.
- Direct communication with worldwide vendors and suppliers. Interpret sales figures to inform design decisions.
- Foster a collaborative environment and work as an integral part of the team.
What You Need - 7-10 years of experience in women's apparel design
- Experience in the luxury market is a plus
- Excellent creativity, high taste level
- Proven ability to create a design offering that captures the vision of creative direction and is aligned with commercial merchandising strategy
- Innate knowledge of fashion and trends with the ability to focus in a new direction each season
- Knowledge of knits and woven construction and functionality
- Strong flat sketching skills
- Computer skills: Excellent Illustrator and Photoshop skills, Microsoft Excel, a web pdm type program
- Excellent communication, presentation, time management, and interpersonal skills with a strong capacity for effective teamwork
- Upbeat, positive attitude
- Bachelor's Degree in Fashion Design
Salary & Benefits - Annual salary range $74,000 - $124,000. A compensation offer is based on relevant years of experience in relation to the position.
- This is a full-time (40 hours per week), long-term position.
