Sports/Youth Development Department Internship - Unpaid Internship/Hours - Apply if Internship Meets School/College Credit

YMCA of Bucks and Hunterdon Counties is seeking motivated internship candidates who want to learn more about nonprofit organizations, youth development, and community impact. The Sports interns will work closely with Sports department leaders across the YMCA of Bucks and Hunterdon Counties association. Sports Management majors and/or some experience with sports/coaching are preferred but not required.

Possible Internship Projects: Develop and execute a program/event, Update and/or create resources to help with program execution or staff development, and Program audit (budget, risk, etc.).

Areas of learning and experience to gain: Program development, staff development, fiscal management, risk management, program/event operations

Internship responsibilities and areas of learning to include but will not be limited to:

  • Demonstrate the core values of caring, respect, honesty, and responsibility in all dealings with members, program participants, volunteers, and staff.
  • Assist in the development, planning, and coordinating of quality sports programs.
  • Support and lead staff and volunteers at YMCA programs/events.
  • Represent the YMCA in the community at off-site events and programs.
  • Work with the marketing to help promote and recruit program participation.
  • Provide for the safety and well-being of all program participants.
  • Assist in introducing new programs to the YMCA membership and community. Stay in touch with current trends and technical developments to keep programming innovative.
  • Assist with fiscal responsibilities including, but not limited to, budget creation, budget monitoring, and variance reports.
