The Spiritual Care Coordinator, as a member of the Interdisciplinary Team, is responsible for overseeing the spiritual care needs of Hospice patients and families ensuring that their needs are met. The Spiritual Care Coordinator will attend to the spiritual needs or will communicate with the patient’s clergy person as requested by patient and/or family. EDUCATION: For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation. Minimum Required: Beginning education for pastoral education or related field of study. Preferred/Optional: Graduate of an accredited seminary or school of Theology. Degree in Hospital Chaplaincy. EXPERIENCE: Minimum Required: Knowledge of various religious practices and beliefs. Knowledge of the Hospice concept, philosophy and goals. Preferred/Optional: None. CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES: Minimum Required: Current applicable state driver’s license with acceptable record. Preferred/Optional: Certificate of Lay Ministry.
