Reporting\nto the Director of Pharmacy, you will oversee specialty pharmacy operations,\nmanage accreditation requirements (URAC, BOP, ACHC), and ensure compliance with\nall regulatory and payer standards. You will supervise pharmacists and pharmacy\ntechnicians, maintain efficient workflows, support limited distribution\nmedication strategies, and participate directly in operational activities,\nincluding patient assessments and refill coordination. You will cross-train\nstaff, assess competencies, respond to audits, and collaborate with internal\nand external partners to support expansion of UCLA Health’s specialty pharmacy\nprograms.

Activities\nwill include:

    \n
  • Overseeing specialty pharmacy\n operations and ensuring compliance with URAC, ACHC,\n BOP, DEA, California Board of Pharmacy and other applicable\n regulatory agency requirements
  • \n
  • Managing and maintaining all\n accreditation activities, surveys, policies, SOPs, and readiness\n documentation
  • \n
  • Completing patient\n assessments, refill coordination, and supporting day-to-day pharmacy\n workflow functions
  • \n
  • Cross-training pharmacists\n and technicians across specialty pharmacy workflows
  • \n
  • Conducting competency\n assessments and ensuring timely completion of all trainings and required\n certifications
  • \n
  • Responding to manufacturer\n and insurance plan audits
  • \n
  • Collaborating with UC system\n partners, specialty pharmacy leadership, and internal departments to\n enhance and expand specialty pharmacy services
  • \n
  • Supporting LDM (limited\n distribution medication) strategies, payer initiatives, and operational\n performance improvement
  • \n
  • Supervising staff to ensure\n accuracy, productivity, compliance, and adherence to departmental\n expectations
  • \n
  • Participating in departmental\n meetings and serving as Administrator-On-Call as needed

Schedule: Full-Time, Variable (Onsite)

Annual\nSalary Range: $144,400.00 – $341,800.00

Qualifications

We’re\nseeking an experienced pharmacy leader with:

\n\n
    \n
  • Current California Pharmacist\n licensure
  • \n
  • PharmD degree from an\n accredited School of Pharmacy
  • \n
  • Minimum 5 years of outpatient\n or specialty pharmacy experience
  • \n
  • Demonstrated experience\n supervising pharmacists and technicians
  • \n
  • Strong understanding of\n specialty pharmacy operations, accreditation requirements, and regulatory\n standards
  • \n
  • Ability to manage URAC, BOP,\n and ACHC accreditation and readiness
  • \n
  • Experience with manufacturer\n and payer audits
  • \n
  • Strong operational leadership\n skills, including workflow oversight, competency assessments, and\n performance management
  • \n
  • Ability to collaborate\n effectively with clinical teams, administrative partners, and external\n stakeholders
  • \n
  • Proficiency with controlled\n substance stewardship, specialty dispensing workflows, and compliance\n activities
  • \n
  • Preferred: Relevant board\n certification (BCACP, BCPS, BCSP, or other specialty certification aligned\n with duties)
