Marriott Sanibel Harbor Resort & Spa is seeking a knowledgeable beauty professional skilled in the craft of manicures and pedicures to deliver customized services that best fit the guest’s needs. Our world-class Spa, newly renovated, reopens soon. Join our team!

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Greet guests immediately with a friendly, sincere welcome; use a positive, clear speaking voice, listen and engage; thank guests with genuine appreciation; according to brand standards.
• Provide nail care services such as manicures and pedicures to guests.
• Anticipate and address guests’ service needs; assist individuals with disabilities.
• Assess guest needs, inquire about contraindications, and examine skin, hair, or nails to evaluate condition, appearance, and appropriateness of scheduled service. Determine and advise guests on proper skin, hair, or nail care.
• Demonstrate, promote, and sell spa/salon retail products.
• Answer questions about general property information and amenities.
• Escort guests to and from treatment rooms.
• Check with guests to ensure continued comfort throughout service.
• Monitor and stick to schedule throughout the day.
• Clean, maintain, and sterilize tools and equipment. Maintain cleanliness of workstation and/or treatment room throughout shift. Dispose of trash and dirty linens in the proper area. Secure supplies and equipment at the end of each shift. Restock stations accordingly. Wash and fold laundry.
• Maintain current licensure in the service area.
• Maintain a positive work environment and contribute to teamwork.
• Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional.
• Call Maintenance or the supervisor if any equipment requires service.
• Follow company policies and procedures. Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to the manager.
• Perform other reasonable job duties as requested.
• Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information; protect company assets.
• Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time or for an entire work shift. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 10 pounds without assistance and objects weighing in excess of 25 pounds with assistance.
• Grasp, turn, and manipulate objects of varying size and weight, requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
• Move through narrow, confined, or elevated spaces. Move over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces as well as up and down stairs and/or service ramps. Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION:

• High school diploma or GED.
• State manicurist/cosmetologist license (responsible for maintaining valid license).
• Proven experience working as a nail technician or customer service (at least 1 year).
• In-depth knowledge of manicure and pedicure techniques.
• The ability to concentrate for extended periods of time.
• Detail-orientated and patient.
• Excellent hand-eye coordination.
• Effective communication skills.
• Exceptional customer service skills.
• Must speak, read, and understand English.
• In addition, some states may have additional licensing/registration requirements to be considered for this position.
