Position Description Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory is hiring for an enthusiastic and customer-focused Seasonal Events Servers to join our dynamic team. As a Seasonal Events Server, you will play a vital role in ensuring the success of various events hosted at CSHL. This temporary position offers an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience in the hospitality industry while providing exceptional service to our guests.
Position Responsibilities - Assist in the setup and arrangement of event spaces, including tables, chairs, linens, and decor.
- Ensure that event areas are clean, organized, and visually appealing prior to guest arrival.
- Greet guests warmly and guide them to their assigned seats or designated event areas.
- Efficiently serve food and beverages to guests, ensuring accuracy and adherence to quality standards.
- Knowledgeably describe menu items and assist guests with dietary preferences or restrictions.
- Provide excellent customer service, promptly addressing guests' inquiries, concerns, and special requests.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including proper food handling and sanitation practices.
- Ensure the safety of guests and fellow staff members during events.

Position Requirements - High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a server or in a customer service role is a plus but not required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Flexibility to work evening and weekend shifts based on event schedules.
- Demonstrated ability to work well in a team and maintain a positive attitude under pressure.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to providing outstanding guest service.
- Willingness to learn and follow instructions from senior staff members.
