Job Description

Aurex Group has partnered with a global multi-strategy alternative investment hedge fund with operations across Europe, Middle East, America, and Asia Pacific is seeking an experienced Senior Portfolio Manager to lead a metals trading portfolio in North America. Location is flexible to sit with one of the existing commodity hubs across Houston, New York, or Chicago, or to work remotely (based on person).

Experienced Traders with financial trading experience within the base and/or precious metals are encouraged to apply.

Summary:

We are looking to speak with Traders with an excellent track record in risk-taking and P&L generation, with demonstrated success outside of a physical asset base. Candidates with track record of $10-25million+ in annual discretionary trading P&L preferred. Focus on financial trading/derivatives trading, although strong understanding of the physical markets is considered a plus. Develop and execute actionable speculative trading commodity strategies where you will be responsible for portfolio construction, risk management, trading strategy, and P&L accountability. Work closely with colleagues to devise and execute strategies, including collaboration with fundamental and quantitative analytics, data scientists, and junior trading members. Monitor portfolio risk. Manage and lead junior members of the team.

Responsibilities

  • 12-15+ years of Trading experience coupled with a strong academic background
  • P&L track record with experience within a hedge fund, asset manager, investment bank, trading house, or related speculative trading environment
  • Relevant educational background
  • Ability to demonstrate keen portfolio risk and operational awareness
  • Outstanding analytical skills with a proven ability to function efficiently and problem-solve in a fast paced and time-critical environment
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
