Harvest LLP, a premier real estate law firm, is seeking an experienced senior real estate paralegal to provide support to real estate transactional lawyers in a wide variety of real estate matters.

Responsibilities

  • Review and analyze title reports, underlying title documents, surveys, and due diligence materials and prepare title objections, responses and title policy requirements for commercial loans, acquisitions, and sales. Work closely with title companies to clear title objections and obtain title policies.
  • Review purchase agreements, contracts and leases and prepare closing checklists and critical date timelines.
  • Draft and prepare closing documents, escrow instructions and closing binders.
  • Coordinate closings directly with attorneys, clients, lenders, and escrow/title officers
  • Coordinate formation, registration and maintenance of business entities.
  • Coordinate and assist with due diligence for a variety of real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, leases and financings.
  • Prepare lease abstracts.
  • Keep attorneys and clients apprised of upcoming deadlines and critical dates.
  • Maintain client confidence by keeping client/attorney information strictly confidential.
  • Adhere to the directions of attorneys and timely complete all tasks.
  • Manage other legal staff effectively and train junior paralegals and other legal professionals.
  • Attend business development functions and proactively seek to expand client relationships.
  • Meet 1,500 minimum annual billable hour requirement.
  • Handle work matters with utmost professionalism.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience as a transactional real estate paralegal in California with a well-regarded law firm/real estate practice group.
  • Thorough understanding of title and survey, title insurance policies, forms and endorsements (including ALTA and CLTA endorsements for typical purchase and sale, and loan transactions).
  • Extensive knowledge of real estate terminology and thorough understanding of the commercial transactional and financing process.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to multitask
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong technical skills, especially in Microsoft Suite.
  • Ability to work with little supervision.
  • Must be able to work under tight deadlines, balance multiple, detailed tasks simultaneously, prioritize appropriately and delegate as appropriate.
  • High level of dependability and professionalism.
  • Salary commensurate with experience.
