The Senior Accountant position is responsible for overseeing all accounting operations which includes maintaining accurate and timely financial reporting according to GAAP, ensuring acceptable levels of internal control, ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, and safeguarding owners/investors assets.

Essential Job Function:

• Assists in the development and implementation of goals, policies, priorities, and procedures relating to financial management, budget, accounting.
• Assists in the preparation of various financial statements and reports, as well as yearly Audits.
• Directs the installation and maintenance of accounting records to show receipts and expenditures.
• Directs the maintenance of general and subsidiary ledgers, accounts receivable, revenue distribution, depreciation, cost, property, and operating expenses.
• Assists in system controls for new financial systems and assists in developing procedures to improve existing systems.
• Directs the installation and maintenance of new accounting, inventory, property, and other related procedures and controls.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Tracks bank activities to ensure treasury is up to date and no fraud is detected Assists with the production of monthly financial statements. This task includes:
• Reviewing the Inventory/Cost of Sales reports with the CFO
• Reviewing the expenses of the month with the CFO Recording the closing entries for the month
• Works with external auditors and provides needed information for the annual audit.
• Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.
• Prepares monthly Sales Tax filings
• Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Excellent management and supervisory skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Proficient in accounting and tax preparation software.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
• Education and Experience:
• Bachelors degree in Accounting or Business Administration required.
• Three years or more of related experience required.

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
