Job Description

The Portland Regency Hotel & Spa is looking for Security to join our team! A beautiful Historic Hotel of America located in the heart of Portland's Old Port District.

Summary: The Security position works with the Night Auditor to ensure the safety and needs of all hotel guests. It entails making decisions on their own which are in the best interest of both the hotel and its guests, remembering at all times that guest service comes first.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities : include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• To check the work schedule each week. Report for all scheduled shifts on time, in complete uniform, with name tag on. Any switching of shifts must have prior approval by your manager.
• To punch into the correct department on the clock no more than 5 minutes before your shift and punching out directly after your shift ends.
• To provide excellent guest service by being courteous, prompt and professional.
• Must have knowledge of all aspects and facilities of the Hotel.
• Dealing with all guests requests and/or complaints in a professional and knowledgeable manner.
• Responsible for signing "in and out" the Security keys at the Front Desk.
• Assisting guests with parking of their vehicles and helping them with luggage to their rooms when necessary.
• Assisting guests with any of their needs.(ie. extra towels, blankets, minor maintenance problems, etc.)
• Water the flowers in the front circle and hang plants outside.
• Assisting in snow removal when necessary.
• Assist the night auditor in answering the hotel phone.
• To take care of the wake up call information and to deliver coffee calls to rooms until the Room Service attendant arrives.
• Check and secure all areas of the hotel, inside and out. Checks and secures all overnight rooms and function rooms, offices, etc.
• Do a walk around the outside of the building and check the hotel parking lots continually throughout the night.
• Deal with any disturbances within the hotel and make any decisions regarding disturbances. This should be done in association with the Auditor.
• Displays coffee in the lobby in the morning.
• Assist guests to and from the airport and various local transportation sites as needed.
• To perform any other related duties assigned by your manager or any other manager.
