DESCRIPTION
Amazon Robotics is building a new foundational system which will transform warehouse robotics. The system integrates multiple custom robots into a cohesive and highly efficient solution. The team is seeking a Software Development Engineer to help us build and scale this robotic system across the fulfillment network.
The ideal candidate is passionate about software development and has a track record of designing and implementing new products and features using cloud technologies (preferably AWS) and software deployed at the edge. Although not exclusively a frontend developer, they enjoy working on UI and have been successful at meeting customer needs with UI features they have developed and tools or visualizations they have created. They have seen their solutions deployed at scale in live environments. They are a hands-on expert, with a deep and broad knowledge of software tools and complex algorithm development.
Key job responsibilities
This is a brand new system which is a critical priority for the Robotics organization. As a key member, you will:
* Work across teams to design and develop metrics and data infrastructure connecting our robotic systems to the cloud
* Develop queries, data visualizations, and tooling that give our team and customers a deep understanding of data generated by our robotic systems
* Develop and test software changes on robotic equipment in the lab
* Work closely with internal stakeholders to define feature requirements and see the impact of your products in the field

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- Expert level knowledge of at least one modern object oriented language such as Java (preferred), C++, or C#
