To date, more than 20,000 young people have participated in the Corps classes and service projects, learning new skills while contributing to the quality of life for residents of the greater Los Angeles area. Position Summary The Recruiter implements the mission of the Corps by using his or her leadership and technical skills to develop the educational and work skills of young people, enabling them to advance their own personal and career opportunities. The Recruiter accomplishes this mission by recruiting and leading program participants in work skills and life development workshops when they first enter the Corps. The Recruiter ensures that the Corps' program and services best fits the needs of the participants that are recruited into the program. Other duties assigned, as needed. Essential Responsibilities Lead the recruitment process and ensure goals for recruiting new participants are attained; ensure that our new hires have a seamless onboarding experience from the moment they have accepted an offer. Develop, and maintain links to community, faith-based organizations and governmental agencies to facilitate recruitment of new participants. Communicate with all internal stakeholders regarding the status of new hires; provide detailed weekly reports on recruitment efforts/accomplishments Responsible for applicant management/tracking and providing support to applicants surrounding the Applicant Tracking System Utilize effective communication and follow-through while acting as a dependable point of contact for candidates; act as point person throughout the application process providing a great candidate experience Manage logistics and coordination for Recruitment programs such as: managing and scheduling workshops, booking rooms, printing and preparing all materials, sending communications to participants, and setting up conference rooms Attend community events, job fairs, and meetings in the community to promote the Corps and recruit new participants. This is done weekly and can involve working Saturdays or Sundays as needed. Ensure the Corps' program and services best fit the needs of new participants. Coordinate with the Conservation, Education, and CMD Departments to ensure that priority recruitment needs and goals are met each recruitment cycle. Ensure new participants are knowledgeable about Corps policies, rules, and regulations and are prepared to successfully join the Corps. Is accountable for establishing a safe working environment where no industrial injures occur that can be attributed to negligence, carelessness, and/or inappropriate safety practices. Provide support around Corpsmember training in conjunction with other members of the Corpsmember Development Department and the Conservation Programs to develop a comprehensive training program for Corpsmembers. Participate in regular program meetings on a regular basis Submit reports and recruitment goal updates in a timely manner to appropriate staff. Enter and maintain all relevant data in the case management databases. Ensure new Corpsmember employee files and eligibility documents are accurate and fully completed prior to submitting these documents to the Human Resource, Payroll and assigned Work Program. Responsible for coordinating and supervising overnight training spikes. Punctuality and satisfactory attendance are essential functions of the job. Working from home is not an option. Education/Experience High School Diploma or GED (from an accredited institution); Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred AND a minimum of two (2) years of experience working with at risk/opportunity youth AND a minimum of 1 year recruitment experience Previous experience working in the non-profit or public sector; Knowledge of Workforce Investment Opportunity Act (WIOA), Community Service Block Grant (CSBG), or other Department of Labor youth programs, eligibility and reporting requirements; Previous experience working with the City of LA's YouthSource and Adult WorkSource system, preferred. Other Duties and Requirements Must be COVID-19 vaccinated and be able to provide supporting documentation. Attend events and meetings in the community to support the program. This can involve working Saturdays or Sundays, as needed. California Class C Driver's License, validation of driving record for commercial policy insurability per the requirements of the state of California. Occasional use of private vehicle for company purposes; validation of driving record and approval of commercial policy insurability is required in conjunction with proof of personal minimum liability insurance coverage per the requirements of the State of California. Mileage will be reimbursed at the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) standard mileage rate. Pass a post-offer drug/alcohol screen test before commencing employment (required to submit for the drug/alcohol screening at a company designated facility) Pass a post-offer Live Scan (fingerprint/background clearance-Department of Justice) before commencing employment. Reference checks will be conducted. Employment is contingent upon receipt of acceptable references Salary and Benefits Hourly rate: $23.19 -$28.54 (reflects the entire hourly rate range). A starting hourly rate higher than $23.19 per hour is based on a level of experience and education that significantly exceeds the minimum requirements and is commensurate with the compensation scale (hourly rate range).
