We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our dynamic team in Charlotte, NC, to provide high-quality psychiatric services to our diverse patient population.

Position Overview  

As a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner at Healthstar, you will: 

  • Patient Care: Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments, diagnose mental health conditions, develop treatment plans, and provide ongoing management of acute and chronic psychiatric issues.

  • Medication Management: Prescribe and monitor psychiatric medications, ensuring effective treatment and managing side effects.

  • Therapeutic Services: Provide psychotherapy and counseling to individuals and groups, utilizing evidence-based therapeutic modalities.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and effective patient care.

  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with healthcare regulations and organizational policies.

  • Education: Educate patients and their families on mental health conditions, treatment options, and coping strategies.



 
Qualifications

 

  • Education: Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) with a specialization in Psychiatric-Mental Health.

  • Licensure: Current and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in the state of North Carolina.

  • Certification: Board certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).

  • Experience: Previous experience in psychiatric nursing preferred; new graduates with strong clinical rotations will be considered.

  • Skills: Excellent clinical judgment, communication, and interpersonal skills; ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Language: Second language proficiency in French, Swahili, or Creole is a PLUS.

  • Base Salary: Competitive, based on experience and qualifications.
