POSITION SUMMARY
The Programs Supervisor (“Supervisor”) provides day-to-day oversight of programs staff, including but not limited to In-School Residency, Expanded Learning, Bridge the Generations, Assemblies, Summer School, Prop 28 Middle School Initiative (“Programs”), and new programs that may be developed from time to time in dance, music, or sports encompassing the Mission of the Organization. The Supervisor ensures that all aspects of Programs are running efficiently, and employees are supported in delivering Conga Kids’ mission.
GENERAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
· Evaluates the success of Programs, lesson plans, curriculum, and employee training through observation.
- Work with the School or District to create a Lesson Calendar, ensuring the school schedule and program schedule are always current. This involves regularly obtaining updates from the school’s administrative team and promptly communicating any changes to the Teaching Artists and your Supervisor.
· Assist in the distribution of work materials for Programs as needed, such as delivering speakers, curriculum binders, and other required resources.
· Supervise program employees, which may include Teaching Artists, Musicians, Dancers, and Stage Managers, or other employees as assigned by your Supervisor.
- Oversee Paychex Time & Attendance for Programs staff, including managing schedules, updating timecards, approving mileage reimbursements, processing missing punch forms, and handling time-off requests to ensure accurate bi-weekly payroll processing.
- Work with Human Resources to address performance issues through progressive disciplinary notice.
- Document incidents with staff, students, and/or schools by completing an Incident Report form and emailing it to your Supervisor immediately.
- Provide an agenda to be discussed during your individual meeting encompassing day-to-day operations (i.e., classroom observations, payroll, HR compliance, etc.).
- Foster a relationship with school faculty and report positive and/or negative feedback to your Supervisor through email.
- Assist with screening, interviewing, auditioning, onboarding, and training staff.
- Conduct and submit classroom/assembly observations through Paychex ensuring it is reviewed and signed by the employee through Paychex.
- Submit a weekly work schedule to your Supervisor, which should reflect daily school site visits.
- The Supervisor may be responsible for creating, reviewing, and adjusting curriculum and choreography to ensure alignment with objectives for existing and/or new initiatives.
- Collaborate in creating, reviewing and adjusting marketing initiatives for the promotion of programs.
- Assist with classroom management and provide support through ongoing training, co-teaching, and/or shadowing during school year.
- Teach a lesson as needed.
- Plan, coordinate, lead, participate in the new school year launch training sessions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Assembly-Specific Duties:
- Schedule and coordinate employees, performances, transportation, and rehearsals for the assemblies.
- Ensure the equipment, props are setup and broken-down with care, costumes are steamed and ready at least 30 minutes prior to the show.
- Responsible for creating, reviewing, and adjusting curriculum and choreography for short-form (15 minutes) and long-form (1 hour), ensuring effective representation of the program's various components.
- Oversee the on-site supervision of assembly performances to ensure smooth operations and coordination among employees and site staff.
- Communicate with partners to ensure the logistics and proper setup of the performance space, including any special requirements for the assemblies if needed.
- Track assembly performance feedback from schools and report them to your Supervisor.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum 2 years of work experience in arts education
- Supervisory experience in a school setting (preferred)
- Experience with choreography (preferred)
- Experience with developing curriculum (preferred)
- Effective time management and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently, collaboratively and be flexible to changes
- Experience with public speaking and presentations (preferred)
- Experience with Google Suite, Paychex and similar platforms (preferred)
- Knowledge of dance therapy, behavior therapy and/or social-and-emotional learning practices (preferred)
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have Driver's License
- Must have transportation with appropriate auto insurance coverage
- Must obtain TB test clearance & LiveScan clearance
- Must be able to stand on feet for prolonged amount of time
- Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds
- Must be flexible in a fast-paced environment
- Must be willing to use personal cell phone
