Professional Pet Groomer

We’re looking for a professional dog groomer to join our team at Pampered Pets Westmount.

Our groomers are an essential part our team, building lasting relationships with customers and providing quality care to pets. Objectives of this Role

  1. Deliver outstanding customer service to pet owners by executing style requests, communicating clearly and honestly, and bringing a positive attitude to work each day.
  2. Provide exemplary cosmetic care for pets, being gentle and patient with anxious and difficult animals
  3. Protect the best interests of our customers and their pets, notifying owners of any concerns, including skin abnormalities, ear infections, ticks, and fleas
  4. Help our team to continue to grow by forming fruitful relationships with customers that result in repeat visits

Daily and Monthly Responsibilities

  1. Clean and freshen pet hair by washing, shampooing, and conditioning
  2. Shave, trim, and style pet hair according to the owner’s preferences if possible
  3. Maintain overall pet hygiene by clipping nails and cleaning ears
  4. Keep a clean work station by sanitizing and sweeping before the arrival of each new client and at the end of each workday
  5. Helping co-workers complete tasks, we are team oriented

Skills and Qualifications

  1. Comfortable working with animals, including anxious ones
  2. Ability to stand for at longer hours and lift heavy animals over 50 pounds
  3. Willingness to learn new skills and techniques on the job
  4. Practiced verbal communication skills
  5. Good attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Demonstrated passion for animals
  2. Grooming Certification
  3. Prior grooming experience
  4. Experience working with animals in a professional or volunteer capacity
  5. Experience working in a customer service-oriented role

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

Salary: $19.00-$25.00 per hour. 

Schedule:

  1. 8 hour shift
