Job Description:

The Unified Government of Wyandotte County/Kansas City, Kansas (UG) is searching for a Professional Assistant for the Department of Planning + Urban Design. Duties include Responsible for agenda packets, transcribing minutes, notices, correspondence, etc. relating to the Kansas City, Kansas Landmarks Commission, Board of Zoning Appeals, Kansas City, Kansas City Planning Commission and monthly Board of Commissioners Planning + Zoning meetings. Providing excellent customer service and responding to applicants and citizens relating to zoning cases, various Planning processes and other inquiries in a courteous, helpful and professional manner. This position requires someone that is detailed-oriented, deadline-driven, and proficient in records filing and management techniques, office administration. Applicants must demonstrate proficiency in multiple office machines and computer software, including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Accella, and transcription. Understanding of the policies and procedures of the Unified Government of Wyandotte County/Kansas City, Kansas is a plus. Position will assist the Office Manager/Executive Assistant to the Director Planning + Urban Design.

Qualifications:

Associate degree in field related to area of responsibility and three years of progressively responsible administrative support experience in area of assignment; or any equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above. Applicants must demonstrate proficiency in multiple office machines and computer software, including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Accella, and transcription. Understanding of the policies and procedures of the Unified Government of Wyandotte County/Kansas City, Kansas is a plus. Bilingual in Spanish/English not required, but desired.

Salary Range:

$20.60-$26.94/hr.
