As a Permanent Process Engineer in our dynamic manufacturing industry, you will play a critical role in the development, planning, and implementation of complex manufacturing processes. You will be a part of a team that ensures the efficiency and effectiveness of our manufacturing operations, with a focus on film manufacturing, flexographic printing, and bag making/converting processes. This role is best suited for a proactive, analytical, and detail-oriented individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
1. Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing processes by studying product and manufacturing methods.
2. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to the manufacturing process and equipment.
3. Use process simulation software and statistical analysis tools to optimize manufacturing processes and improve product quality.
4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that manufacturing processes align with the organization's business objectives and customer requirements.
5. Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations, including SQF.
6. Implement strategies for waste reduction and efficiency improvements.
7. Utilize ERP software, specifically Epicor, for process management and data analysis.
8. Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure the safety and efficiency of manufacturing operations.
9. Provide training and guidance to production staff on new processes and equipment.
10. Lead continuous improvement initiatives and projects.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in plastics film production.
3. In-depth knowledge of film manufacturing, flexographic printing, and bag making/converting processes.
4. Proficiency in using process simulation software and statistical analysis tools.
5. Familiarity with SQF and ERP software, specifically Epicor.
6. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
8. Ability to work in a team-oriented environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
9. Proven track record of successfully implementing process improvements in a manufacturing setting.
10. Ability to interpret and analyze technical drawings and schematics.
11. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality and safety.
