The Role: Blue Owl is seeking an Associate / Senior Associate to join the Private Wealth Distribution Strategy and Analytics team. This individual will focus on developing, maintaining, and enhancing foundational sales and operational reports and dashboards in direct support to senior leaders across the Global Private Wealth business. The role requires advanced Tableau and SQL skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to synthesize and generate meaningful insight from large amounts of raw data. The associate will work in close coordination with IT project leads, data engineers, external vendors, and other core business functions at Blue Owl and will help drive process automation and efficiencies for the Private Wealth team. The ideal candidate is collaborative and detail-oriented with the ability to work well in a fast-paced environment. This position provides a unique opportunity to gain exposure to senior leadership and provide strategic analysis at a rapidly growing firm.
Responsibilities: - Develop, maintain, and enhance existing sales and operational activity reports and dashboards to support business needs
- Facilitate on-going data collection, transformation, and integration processes from source to target systems
- Write complex and efficient SQL queries to model KPIs or structure data necessary for reporting and analysis
- Perform detailed data analysis and effectively communicate trends and insights that inform business decisions to key stakeholders
- Ensure the accuracy, integrity and security of data displayed in reports, dashboards, and CRM through validation processes and testing procedures
- Identify and lead continuous improvement opportunities with existing processes and leverage data and available systems to drive automation
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to gather business requirements across Private Wealth business units and maintain comprehensive documentation
- Partner with IT to translate business needs into agile project plans; assist in the quality assurance of systems and data pipelines in development
Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree or equivalent required in Business Management, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 2-5+ years of experience in a data and analytics or similar role
- Financial Services experience preferred
- Proficiency in SQL; demonstrated ability to write complex queries to extract meaningful information from raw data
- Expertise in Tableau; proven experience in creating and maintaining reports and dashboards to support business decision-making
- Experience with Salesforce or another CRM system
- Superior analytical mindset and attention to detail, high standard for precision
- Problem-solving abilities; capacity to troubleshoot data-related issues and deliver accurate and actionable insights
- Exceptional organizational skills; ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines efficiently
- Strong interpersonal skills; ability to effectively communicate with business stakeholders, including presenting technical details to non-technical audiences
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
It is expected that the base annual salary range for this New York City-based position will be $110,000 to $130,000. Actual salaries may vary based on factors, such as skill, experience, and qualification for the role. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, based on factors such as individual and team performance.
